Model Overview

The VOYAH Dream is the maiden MPV from Dongfeng Motor’s high-end intelligent electric marque, VOYAH. First launched in May 2022 and pitched as the "world's first luxury electric flagship MPV", it centres on "generous space, potent performance, and uncompromising safety", catering to both premium family mobility and executive chauffeur services. Underpinned by VOYAH’s proprietary ESSA dedicated intelligent EV architecture, the MPV has offered both pure electric (EV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrains since its debut. As of June 2026, the lineup consists of 2026 and 2027 models across 11 trim variants, with official retail pricing spanning RM315,900 to RM709,900 (core volume variants sit between RM329,900 and RM439,900) and monthly sales holding steady at around 7,000 units.

The 2026 VOYAH Dream carries forward the brand's "Kunpeng Spreading Wings" family styling. Up front, it features a massive waterfall grille with 34 vertically arranged, symmetrical chrome slats, flanked by full-width LED headlamps and an illuminated brand emblem to project an executive road presence. A U-shaped chrome accent along the lower apron adds depth to the fascia. In profile, clean, straight character lines complement its near-2-metre width and 5.3-metre overall length, delivering a commanding, well-planted stance. The rear is defined by crystal-cut LED tail lamp clusters, an illuminated blue "VOYAH" script badge, and smart driving "Little Blue Light" indicators, blending high-tech flair with instant recognisability.A new "Jinluan Red" dual-tone exterior finish has also been introduced, drawing inspiration from Chinese imperial palace aesthetics.Inside, the 2026 model adds purple-rice and dark-cyan two-tone themes, complemented by zebrawood dash trim, "Yingshanhe" backlit door cards, and extensive soft-touch upholstery, elevating cabin ambience from understated to genuinely opulent.
Powertrain and Performance
The 2026 VOYAH Dream rides on the 800V Lanhai Smart Super Hybrid Platform, available in both PHEV and BEV guises. The PHEV variant combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with dual electric motors, churning out a combined 490 kW (approx. 666 PS) and 915 Nm of torque. This enables a 0-100 km/h sprint in just 5.9 seconds and a top speed of 203 km/h.PHEV buyers can choose between 43.2 kWh and 62.5 kWh battery capacities, yielding CLTC pure-electric ranges of 235 km and 350 km respectively, with total combined cruising ranges between 1,411 km and 1,530 km. Notably, the 62.5 kWh pack supports 5C ultra-fast charging, taking just 12 minutes to juice up from 20% to 80%—making it one of the world's fastest-charging hybrid MPVs.Even with a depleted battery, CLTC fuel consumption is rated at a frugal 5.26 L/100 km. The pure-electric EV variant packs a 108.7 kWh battery pack paired with dual-motor all-wheel drive, delivering 405 kW of total output and a CLTC range of up to 700 km.
Chassis and Handling
Chassis dynamics are where the VOYAH Dream distinctly pulls ahead of conventional MPVs. It boasts a sophisticated front double-wishbone and rear five-link independent suspension setup, extensively utilising lightweight aluminium components to cut unsprung mass by roughly 30%. High-spec variants come equipped with an adaptive air suspension system featuring "Magic Carpet" preview scanning and Continuous Damping Control (CDC), adjusting damper stiffness in milliseconds to iron out road imperfections. The 2026 top-spec model also debuts a world-first rear-wheel steering system on a hybrid MPV, offering up to 10 degrees of bidirectional steering angle. This slashes the 5.3-metre people-mover's turning radius down to around 5.8 metres—on par with a compact sedan—and introduces a novel "Crab Walk" mode for tight-space manoeuvring. Intelligent electric all-wheel drive comes standard across the board, featuring 0-100% fully variable torque split between the front and rear axles. Dynamic benchmarks are equally impressive, boasting a Moose test entry speed of 78 km/h and a 100-0 km/h stopping distance of just 35.79 metres.
Cabin and Equipment
The VOYAH Dream is split into two smart technology trims: "Kunpeng" and "Qiankun". The Kunpeng variant runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chip with onboard AI models, whereas the Qiankun variant premiers Huawei’s HarmonyOS Cockpit 5, supporting seamless HSpace-Link multi-device pairing and vehicle-to-vehicle cross-platform connectivity. Up front, there is a 15.6-inch floating central infotainment touchscreen paired with a massive 29-inch AR-HUD, while the second row gains a 17.3-inch 3K roof-mounted entertainment screen with cabin-wide audio-visual sync. Laid out in a 2+2+3 seven-seat configuration, every seat features 3D wrap-around heating, suction-type ventilation, and power adjustment. The second-row captain chairs feature world-first AI zero-gravity massage lounges, complete with 1-second adaptive lumbar contouring and a 26-point tap massage system. Other luxury amenities include standard soft-close powered doors, an AR hands-free powered tailgate, a 13-litre dual-opening hot/cold smart fridge, powered second-row sunshades, and 256-colour ambient lighting.
Safety and Driver Assistance
Qiankun editions come standard with Huawei Qiankun ADS 4 (upgraded via OTA to ADS 4.1 in March 2026). The sensor suite comprises a 192-line roof-mounted LiDAR, three 4D millimetre-wave radars, and multiple HD cameras. The LiDAR boasts a 250-metre detection range capable of resolving 30 cm obstacles. Key capabilities include Urban and Highway Navigation Cruise Assist (NCA), active detour around construction zones, automated ETC toll booth transit, Parking-to-Parking 2.0 cross-city pilot driving, and multi-level Valet Parking Driver (VPD) 2.0.To ease driving a vehicle of this size, the system adds dedicated three-point turn assist for narrow roads and automated parking bay search within private compounds. On the active safety front, ADS 4.1 introduces an enhanced eAES emergency steering function: if an impending rear-end collision is detected at high speed and the adjacent lane is clear, the system will autonomously initiate an emergency lane change to avoid being sandwiched.Structurally, the body shell incorporates a 2,000 MPa ultra-high-strength safety cage and has secured a C-NCAP five-star crash safety rating, making it the first new energy MPV to achieve this accolade.
Market Performance and Reception
Since its market introduction in 2022, cumulative sales of the VOYAH Dream have surpassed the 200,000-unit milestone. In 2025, annual deliveries reached 80,248 units—a 46% surge year-on-year—with 43,191 units shifted in the second half alone to secure the crown in the luxury MPV segment. That sales momentum has carried into 2026; in April, it registered 7,017 units to top the overall MPV sales charts for the first time, meaning one out of every three high-end MPVs sold was a VOYAH Dream.According to Land Roads’ "H2 2025 NEV Brand Health Study", the Dream scored a class-leading Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 78.5 points, dominating both sales charts and customer satisfaction rankings despite an average transaction price exceeding RM400,000. It has earned widespread acclaim for its premium chassis engineering, packaging efficiency, and advanced cockpit tech, effectively dispelling the traditional stigma of MPVs being cumbersome to drive and technologically dated. Key pillars behind its success include adopting a dedicated native EV platform rather than an ICE conversion, leveraging Huawei's software stack for an edge in autonomous driving and connectivity, and rolling out continuous hardware and powertrain upgrades. As VOYAH’s core volume and profit driver, the Dream has cemented a solid market base in a fiercely contested segment, paving the way for forthcoming family-oriented SUV nameplates like the Taishan X8.
